Matcha powder (Culinary grade)
Matcha powder is a fine, green powder made from shade-grown Green tea leaves primarily grown in Japan. This process of shade growing ensures a higher concentration of nutrients and antioxidants.
Culinary matcha is a more robust grade of Japanese green tea powder made from later-harvest leaves which are shade-grown for 7 - 14 days before harvest, as opposed to ceremonial matcha which is shade-grown for a longer period. Due to this it has a light green (Olive) color. Its stronger, slightly bitter and earthy flavor is designed to hold its own against dairy, sweeteners, and heat, making it perfect for baking, smoothies, and lattes.
Unlike traditional green tea, Matcha is made by grinding the entire leaf into a fine, green powder, ensuring you ingest 100% of its powerful nutrients. Perfect for a jitter-free morning boost, metabolic support, and a mindful daily ritual.
The caffeine in matcha is absorbed by the body less slowly than coffee's providing sustained energy and calm alertness.
The Matcha Advantage
- Sustained "Zen" Energy: Unlike the sudden spike and crash of coffee, Matcha provides steady, calm alertness without the jitters.
- Antioxidant Powerhouse: One cup of Matcha provides the antioxidant equivalent of roughly 10 cups of regular brewed green tea.
Flavor profile
Complex balance of savory umami (similar to seaweed or broth), fresh grassy notes, and a subtle natural sweetness, often finishing with a mild earthy bitterness
Elevates the taste of milk in lattes to a more complex, earthy umami taste.
