Cassia cinnamon is a popular spice derived from the dried inner bark of the evergreen cassia tree (Cinnamomum cassia). It is the most widely available variety of cinnamon, prized for its bold, warm, sweet-spicy flavor and intense aroma.
Cassia cinnamon sticks are Dark reddish-brown in color and feature a single rolled stick that is hollow, thick and hard.
Cassia cinnamon is strong and pungent hence is good for culinary creations where cinnamon is the star of the dish like cinnamon rolls and cinnamon flavoured teas.
How to use
- Steep 1 stick in hot water/tea for 5 minutes to infuse flavor. Wash, dry and reuse until flavor fades.
- Simmer 1 stick in slow cooked stews to infuse flavor.
